Pilates is a method of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. He developed a series of exercises and special equipment intended to strengthen the mind and body.

 

Pilates is based on 9 principles which include: breathing, concentration, control, centering, precision, balanced muscle development, rhythm/flow, whole body movement and relaxation.

Pilates can be performed by people of all ages and abilities.
